Abstract:
Since temperature fault is one of the most common and worst faults in high-voltage switch cabinet, the temperature of significant components inside the cabinet needs to be monitored in real time. Existing temperature monitoring systems have various disadvantages due to the closed structure and tight space inside the cabinet, complex electromagnetic environment, and not easy to detect after power failure. This paper proposes a switch cabinet temperature monitoring system based on wireless power transfer (WPT) technology, where the transmit and receive coils are conformal to the existing structure of the cabinet, and the energy is transmitted from the breaker compartment to the bus compartment by magnetic coupling without affecting the normal operation of the cabinet. The measured results show that the
S21 is approximately -8.3 dB at a vertical distance of 35 mm between the transmitting and receiving coils, which is sufficient to supply power to the temperature measurement system and communication module, and to monitor the temperature of significant components in the cabinet in real time via mobile terminals such as mobile phones.
