Abstract:
A high-integration dual-polarization phased array module for terminal applications in the millimeter-wave band is presented in this paper. The module is designed using multi-layer PCB technology, in which multi-channel beamforming chips and frequency-conversion chips are integrated to realize beam scanning and frequency conversion. A multi-layer interconnection structure is proposed to improve the performance of interlayer signal transmission. The use of an integrated RF interface greatly reduces the number of interfaces and the size of the module. Measurement results show that the 1×4 array can achieve one-dimensional phased array beam scanning from -30° to 30° at 26 GHz. The measured effective isotropic radiated powers for vertical polarization and horizontal polarization are 34.1 dBm and 33.4 dBm, respectively. The average error vector magnitudes transmitting 5G NR signals are 4.96% and 4.37% under the two polarization states, respectively.
