    Design of L-band 10 MW Miniaturized Permanent Magnetic Focusing Multi-beam Klystron

    • 摘要: 针对应用需求,文中设计并研发了一种新型L波段10 MW小型化速调管。文中给出了简要的设计过程及测试结果。该管采用永磁聚焦结合多注基模谐振腔技术,在阴极电压70 kV条件下实现了10 MW的峰值功率输出、45%以上的效率和46 dB以上的增益。该管质量仅为76 kg,将L波段10 MW级高峰值功率速调管的重量较常规降低一个数量级。

       

      Abstract: In order to meet the demand for the miniaturized microwave sources, a new kind of miniaturized permanent magnetic focused multi-beam klystron with output power of 10 MW at L-band is designed and developed. In this paper, the brief design process and the test results of the klystron are presented. The klystron adopts the method of periodic reverse permanent magnetic focusing combined with multi-beam fundamental-mode cavities, which achieves a peak output power of more than 10 MW under the cathode voltage of 70 kV, with an efficiency of more than 45% and a gain of more than 46 dB. The weight of the klystron is only 76 kg, which reduced the weight of L-band 10 MW class peak power klystron by an order of magnitude compared with the conventional klystrons.
