Study on Multi-index Evaluation Method for Electromagnetic Radiation Safety of Drivers and Passengers in Green Energy Vehicles

Abstract: A multi-index and multi-scale electromagnetic safety assessment method is proposed to address the limitations of existing approaches, which rely on single indicators and lack accuracy and comprehensiveness in evaluating the safety of passengers exposed to green energy vehicles electromagnetic radiation. Firstly, starting from the complex mechanism of electromagnetic biological effects, multiple indicators for evaluating the electromagnetic radiation safety of new energy vehicles for vehicle occupants are provided from multiple dimensions including macroscopic, mesoscopic, microscopic, as well as spatial, temporal, and frequency-domain perspectives; Then, a quantitative mathematical modeling for the multi-index evaluation method is carried out to establish an electromagnetic radiation safety rating model, and different weight factors are applied to each evaluation index according to the degree of impact; Finally, segmented criteria are formulated for scoring individual indicator in the evaluation model. The scoring results indicate that the multi-index evaluation method considers multiple factors, resulting in an average reduction of 11.20 points in the electromagnetic radiation safety scores of the 9 green energy vehicles evaluated from late 2024 to early 2025 compared with the existing single field strength intensity index evaluation method. This indicates that the method makes the electromagnetic radiation safety evaluation more comprehensive, accurate, and rigorous, and can attract more public attention. It is proposed that electromagnetic safety indicators be added to international standards.
