Abstract: This paper introduces the properties of Luneburg lens and Luneburg lens antenna, analyzes the plane wave incident on stepped index Luneburg lens and the scattering field using electromagnetic modal expansion method, then computes the pattern of Lunburg lens antenna using reciprocity theory.
