Abstract:
Optimization and design process for a S-band shaped beam array antennas is presented. This array consisted of16 parallel printed dipoles. In order to form a given three-dimensional antenna pattern for array antennas, variable metricalgorithms, Davidon-Fletcher-Powell(DFP) and Broyden-Fletcher- Goldfarb- Shanno (BFGS) were jointly used to optimize theamplitude and phase distribution of the current excitations. By the using of the full-wave EM field simulator-HFSS, somesimulation of the linear array was obtained taking into account of the mutual coupling in array, and Patterns obtained are in a good agreement with the pre-numerical results, According to the results of simulation and optimization, antenna array wasproduced and tested, these results reach a good agreement with the simulation.
