Abstract: This paper discussed the theory of electron velocity distribution at the entrance of MDC. We design an experiment, and obtain the velocity distribution. Based on this distribution, more realistic initial condition is obtained, which is used in the simulation of MDC, and the results are more consistent than the results using old initial condition. The experiment provide reliable basis for designing and optimization of MDC, and improve the designing efficiency of TWT.
