Abstract:
A hybrid method for the synthesis of the difference pattern of a new monopulse array is presented in this paper.Instead of implementation of an independent feed network for the difference pattern, the new approach partitions the array intosubarrays. By applying the proper subarray weights, this solution allows one the use of a simpler feed network with acceptableperformance. Our synthesis method makes use of a new integer particle swarm optimization method, where a new feature isintroduced to improve the efficiency and the robustness of the method. Numerical example is presented to demonstrate theadvantage of our method.
