Abstract:
A system of optically controlled phased array antenna on vehicle for satellite communication is presented. Keytechnique of the system is analyzed and performance of antenna element, array and optical true time delay units is testedthrough computer simulation. Simulation shows that optically controlled phased array antenna has a feature of wideband andwide-angle scanning. Optically controlled phased array antenna with this feature overcome a difficulty that conventional phasedarray cannot be applied for wideband system.
