Abstract:
The compact antenna test range (CATR) is an important measuring equipment on antenna radiation characteristics and target scattering properties.The electromagnetic performance of plane wave in CATR quiet zone should be calibrated prior to use on amplitude taper,amplitude ripple and phase deviation.The quiet zone performance calibration of CATR can not be separated from the whole band probe receiving antenna.The performance of calibration antenna will affect the calibration results of the electromagnetic parameters of the CATR quiet zone.This paper describes the scanning principle on the calibration of the CATR quiet zone performance.In the CATR environment of the institute,comparing the differences of the standard gain horn antenna and ultra-broadband double ridge horn antenna as the receiving probe repectively is carried on.Experiments show that the ultra-broadband double ridge horn antenna can replace the function of the six band standard gain horn antenna because of a small standing wave,gain appropriate,easy to replace and frequenc bandwidth.
