Abstract:
A compact wideband dual-frequency patch antenna based on the U-shaped patch antenna is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna was simulated and designed by using an Ansoft HFSS 11.0 (high frequency structure simulator 11.0) based on FEM.. The prototype of the antenna is constructed and tested, shown good agreement with simulated results. The results show that the return loss covering the two impedance bands (824~960MHz and 1710~2170MHz ) is below ?10 dB, and the relative bandwidth is 15% and 23% respectively, and the size of antenna is smaller than normal patch antenna. The proposed antenna can be widely used in the wireless communication system.
