Abstract: Radar remote sensing has the advantages of penetration and allweather operation, which applies widely in environmental protection, and has great applied requirement. Facing the severe environment pressure, it is urgent and necessary for summary the application of radar remote sensing in environmental protection. The application of SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) in the oil spill, algal bloom, soil moisture, vegetation growth, biomass and emergency incidents monitoring have been analyzed systematically, so as to provide the clear applied goals for the HJ1C radar satellite, and attempt to supply important technique service for the construction of spaceground integrated monitoring system.
