Abstract:
A LTD module with 150 kV output capability was designed based on a former LTD module with 125kV. The new block used Blumlein line as pulse forming line which has more merits than the former one. A 800 kV LTD system was contrived with the newly designed modules. Calculation and simulation were carried out to decide the structure of the LTD equipment which meets the requirement about insulation. The result of circuit simulation proved that the LTD system which can drive a 60Ω load with 800 kV, with a rise time about 50 ns, a fall time about 30 ns, and a hold time about 110 ns achieves the target of the project.
