Abstract:
To cover the service area with multiple analogous spot beams, a new design of the shaped multibeam antenna is presented. In the optimization course, the phases of the aperture field and the positions of the feeds are set as variables, and then the object function is constructed of the requirements on the gain and the side lobe of different beams, finally the Minimax method is adopted to obtain multiple spot beams with the high gain and the low side lobes. The simulation results show the validity of the optimization design, resolving the problems in traditional single feed-per-beam multibeam antenna.
