Abstract:
A dual-wideband dual-polarization directional magneto-electric dipole antenna is presented in this paper. Firstly, the traditional magneto-electric dipole antenna model is adjusted and Г-shaped parasitic strips are added to obtain dual-band directional magneto-electric antenna. Secondly, two magneto-electric dipole antennas are placed 90°crossed. Lastly, two Г-shaped feed strips with different height are employed to feed the dual-wideband dual-polarization directional magneto-electric antenna. According the simulated results, the antenna is prototyped and measured. The simulated and measured results show that the antenna obtains -10 dB impedance bandwidths of 18% (0.8~0.96 GHz) and 45% (1.7~2.7 GHz) for the lower and higher bands, respectively. The isolations between the two input ports are larger than 20 dB in the lower frequency band and 25 dB in the higher frequency band. The antenna has peak gains of 5.5 dBi and 8.2 dBi for the lower and higher bands, respectively. The proposed antenna can be widely used in wireless communication systems.
