Abstract:
On the basis of bandwidth limitations for analysis of traditional Doherty combiner structure, we propose a new type of load modulation network. The load modulation scheme is a parallel network structure and load modulation period of a quarter wave length line parallel combination. The inference can effectively compensate for the effect of bandwidth limitations of traditional Doherty load modulation network so as to achieve the purpose of expanding bandwidth. Finally, in order to verify the practical feasibility of the design, two 10 W GaN HEMT transistors are used to design a wideband Doherty power amplifier for wireless communication and a physical test is made, the actual test results show that the power amplifier operating bandwidth is 1. 6~2. 6 GHz, the whole band output saturation output power is greater than 41 dBm, saturated drain efficiency is up to 56%,the drain efficiency at 6 dB output power back-off is between 35% and 38%, besides, the adjacent channel power ratio (ACPR) is better than -45 dBc, indicating that the design can meet expected effect.
