Design of an Antipode-Type Vivaldi High Gain Antenna

摘要: 为了提高传统对拓式Vivaldi 天线在低频段的增益以满足微波探测脑活动穿透力的需求,设计了一种尺寸为100 mm×120 mm×2 mm 的对拓式Vivaldi 天线。 该天线在不改变原天线尺寸的情况下通过在接地层加载圆弧形反射器来改善天线在低频段的辐射特性。结果表明,在1~3 GHz 频带内天线的VSWR<2,在工作频带内增益均高于4 dB,相对于未加载圆弧形反射器的情况,频带内增益最大提高了3 dB。对天线进行加工实测,实测与仿真结果吻合良好,使得该天线可以应用于人脑活动探测等领域。Abstract: In order to improve the radiation gain of the traditional Vivaldi antenna in low frequency band to meet the needs of microwave detection of brain activity, an antipode-type Vivaldi antenna with dimension of 100 mm× 120 mm× 2 mm is designed. The radiation characteristics of the antenna is improved by adopting the method of loading a circular reflector on the ground layer,while the size of the original antenna is not changed. The results show that the VSWR of the antenna in the 1-3 GHz band is lower than 2, the gain is higher than 4 dB which is increased by a maximum of 3 dB compared to the gain without the reflector in the frequency band. The antipode-type Vivaldi antenna is fabricated and measured, the measured results agree well with the simulated, so that the antenna can be applied to human brain activity detection and other fields.
