Abstract: The appearance of new warfare pattern and trend of multifunctional integrated platform become great chalchallenges to the traditional radar, electronic-warfare and communication, and higher requirement is put forward to the phased array antenna. Based on these requirements and new technology promotion, the phased array antenna technology has achieved rapid development, and the thin characteristic is one of the development directions. The architecture design is the key step that determines the antenna morphology and performance. The technology status and research method of thin antenna array are presented in this paper from the aspects of architecture characteristics, technological approach, key technology, and development trend. It also provides a reference for the engineering realization of this technology. The thin antenna array will be intelligent, digital, modular and networked in future.
