Abstract: The Potential for HPM weapon has been dramatically increasing due to thewidespread use of solid state electronics in military technology. The development status of HPMweapon technology over the world is described. The goals and the major achievements of AmericanHPM weapon program are presented. Then we analyze the key technology and challenges of thepulsed power generators, multipulse and singlepulse facilities and the antenna subsystems. Finally,the developing prospect of HPM technology is evaluated.
