Abstract:
A new type of broadband printed twin dipole antenna is proposed in this paper. Corresponding feed structure of broadside coupled parallel line is also designed. A practical printed antenna was designed according to theoretical analysis by the Method of Moments(MOM) with integral equation. The measurement was also carried out. The results indicate that bandwidth of the new antenna is larger than that of the normal microstrip dipole fabricated on the same substrate. Bandwidth greater than 23% at VSWR<2.0 can be obtained on a 0.8mm substrate at the center frequency of 2GHz. This new broadband printed antenna is easy to be integrated with MMIC, and suitable for element of array due to its simple planar configuration.
