Abstract:
In this paper, we have discussed the principle of electromagnetic wave absorption of frequency selective surface with random distributed patches (RDFSS) and its application in absorbing composite material design. It is presented that the new absorbers will have wider bandwidth and deeper absorption while using FSS with random distributed resistive patches. With finite element method, the effects of occupancy factor, distribution and surface resistance of the patches upon absorbing performances of composite have been studied numerically. The results show that these parameters have notable effects on absorbing properties of the material composed of resistive RDFSS, and absorbing properties could be improved greatly in wide band when the parameters are optimized.
