Abstract:
The design method of inverse Class E amplifiers with finite DC blocking capacitance is presented in this paper. The proposed amplifier not only offers high efficiency, but also brings in some improvements, such as lower peak switching voltage, higher power output capability, higher frequency upper limit and power upper limit. An output power 40.07dBm at 155MHz with drain efficiency of 83.87% and poweradded efficiency of 82.57% is obtained by a practical circuit. Experimental results show excellent agreement with simulations, which verifies the theoretical analysis.
