Abstract:
Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) plays a very important role in millimeter-wave and microwave integrated circuits for its low return loss and easy integration. It is unavoidable to utilize the right-angled bend structure of SIW in practice. The conventional bend structure has been ameliorated in this paper, and the transmission characteristics of the bends with straight cutting and arc cutting are simulated. A right-angled bend structure containing a inductive post is designed by analyzing the characteristic of the post in SIW. The simulated and measured results show that the return loss of this bend structure is lower than -15dB and the bandwidth is over 4.8GHz, while the voltage transfer coefficient in the pass-band is higher than -1.5dB. It is a good transmission performance. So, it can be widely used in microwave circuits.
