Abstract:
A multi-band antenna with triangle-nested construction is proposed and designed, which can operate in four bands. The antenna is nested by four radiator units, including three triangle metal-rings and a triangle metal-patch. The four units have a common vertex, which can be fed by coplanar waveguide. The proposed antenna model has been simulated and analyzed by CST. The simulated results present that the number of multi-band, the central frequency and bandwidth can be controlled by the number and height of triangle-nested rings, as well as the angle of the vertex. Moreover, there is consistent regularity between every frequency and the height of the corresponding unit. Finally, a monopole multi-band printed antenna with fractal-nested triangle rings has been designed, working at 2.4GHz, 3.5GHz, 5.2GHz and 5.8GHz. What′s more, the antenna prototype has been manufactured and measured in anechoic chamber. The research results indicate that this proposed antenna can achieve an excellent controllability in pass-band. The total size of the antenna is miniature, which is feasible for manufacture and can be widely applied in WLAN or WiMAX fields.
