Abstract:
This paper proposes to design a digital predistorter using memory polynomial to linearize a high efficiency inverse class-E RF power amplifier, which operates as a switch and exhibits very severe nonlinearity. The inverse class-E amplifier is designed to operate at S-band with 10W saturated output power. The excitation for the amplifier is a one-carrier WCDMA signal with 5MHz bandwidth. With digital predistortion linearization, experimental results show a high degree of spectral suppression for out-of-band can be achieved, so that this inverse class-E amplifier can work both with high linearity and high efficiency.
