Abstract:
A compact printed YagiUda antenna is proposed which uses a balanced microstrip line slot line feed. It makes full use of the space to reduce not only the area of the feed network but also the size of antenna. The antenna parameters have been analyzed and optimized with CSTMicrowave Studio and the current results obtained from simulation gives broadband and directional radiation characteristics of the antenna. The tested results indicate that the antenna has the reflection coefficient under -10dB from 1.88 to 3.06GHz, the relative bandwidth reaches 47.3%. The proposed antenna can achieve the gain of 4.0~6.3dBi. The total size of the antenna is 0.34λ
0×0.58λ
0. The antenna features a simple structure, small size and wide frequency band, so that it can be used in PCS/UMTS/WLAN and other fields, and it is useful for composing antenna array also.
