Abstract:
There is a contradiction between tracking speed and tracking accuracy when variable inclined continuous transverse stub (VICTS) antenna track satellite by using a single tracking algorithm, which makes the antenna unable to track the satellite stably. Based on analysis of the VICTS antenna, this paper improves the step tracking algorithm, and a combined tracking algorithm which based on program tracking and step tracking is proposed. The tracking state is divided into program tracing and step tracing by setting beacon AGC threshold, the tracking state and beacon AGC value are taken as the switching conditions of tracking state, so as to achieve high tracking speed and tracking accuracy, and thus improving the tracking efficiency of VICTS antenna. The experimental results show that the algorithm solves the contraction between tracing speed and tracing accuracy, and enables the antenna to track the satellite quickly, stably and accurately.
