    A Review of Advanced Phased Array Antenna Technology

    • Future warfare is evolving towards joint all-domain operations, driving the continuous improvement of combat capabilities of electronic equipment and propelling the development and advancement of phased array antenna technology. This paper summarizes the evolution of phased array antennas, guided by the requirements of radar systems, focusing on the capability demands and technical characteristics of phased array antennas. Development directions for phased array antennas are proposed: lightweight, integrated, low scattering, multi-functional, distributed, and intelligent. The features, applications, and key technologies are introduced, along with relevant critical issues. Finally, open architecture is proposed, with the hope of providing references and driving research on the exploration and development of phased array antennas in advanced electronic systems.
