An Electric-Field Cross-Correlation Fourier Transform Millimeter Wave Spectrometer
-
Abstract
An electric-field cross-correlation Fourier transform spectrometer worked in the region of millimeter waves is described. It uses two controllable phase variation pseudorandom binary sequences (PRBS)to modulate individually two micr- owave fields derived from the same source, and two wide bandwidth microwave signals with variable phase delay between them are obtained. The Founier transform of the cross-correlation function of the two microwave signals is the cross-power spectrum. This spectrometer has many advantages such as simple structure, high resolution, easy realization etc.The principle and fundamental structure of the spectrometer are ntroduced and experimental results are given in 8mm-wave range.
