A New Use of Short Circuited Waveguide Method

A new method for determining the microwave dielectric properties of solid state materials is described.The dielectric properties of pulverized agricultural products or mineral samples with known densities are measured by employing the short circuited waveguide method at a few different bulk densities.Properties of the solids are obtained by extrapolating functions of the dielectric constant and loss factor that are linearly related to the bulk density of the air particle mixture.
