An U-shaped Slot Dual-band Planar Inverted-F Microstrip Antenna

This paper describes a novel dual-band planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) loaded with a U-shaped slot. The proposed PIFA uses a single coaxial feed and the end of the radiating patch is folded up for the miniaturization. The purpose of this paper is to achieve a compact dual-band antenna for GSM 900 MHz/DCS 1800 MHz system. Simulated results are computed by the software Ansoft HFSS8.0 (High Frequency Structure Simulator).
