Research on A Kind of Microstrip EBG Structure

The EGB characteristics of a microstrip periodically loaded open-circuited stubs was analyzed and affirmed. Results of theoretical analysis and experiment indicate that the center frequency of stopband is determine by stubs, and the period-length which is far less than half wavelength. Moreover, it is found that a narrow passband could exist in some specific stop-band when parameters are proper. Based on this structure, a broad lowpass filter was developed.
