Abstract
The pulse waveform design is a key research topic in ultra-wideband(UWB) wireless communications.A novel low-complexity pulse shaping algorithm,using twice iterations to optimize the waveform parameters,is presented to achieve a maximum possible transmitssion power under Federal Communications Commission(FCC) emission mask for UWB system.In addition,the performance of time hopping pulse position modulation(TH-PPM) UWB system using the proposed monocycle is analyzed under additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) channel.Simulation results show that the performance of the UWB system using the new pulse is better than those of the other conventional UWB systems such as using Manchester monocycle and Scholtz's monocycle,which provides good guidance in practical applications.
