    Compact Design of a Millimeter Waveguide Filter

    • A new design of the millimeter-wave waveguide filter is proposed in this paper that integrates common waveguide H-plane diaphragm filter and waveguide-coaxial converter. The waveguide-coaxial converter by based on magnetic coupling, a loop coupling at the short plane of waveguide. The input and output is set in a straight line, so the structure is more compact, and ensures good performance. With this new method, it will be more convenient to install devices and connect cables in the limited structure of space-borne or airborne equipments. A millimeter waveguide band-pass filter at 30GHz center frequency is successful designed with this new method , and simulated with simulation software HFSS EM. The feasibility, simpleness and practicability of the filter design are proved by the measured results.
