    Novel Iterative Method for Obtaining the Impedance of Schottky Diode Based on ADS

    • Accurately obtaining the working state and input impedance of the schottky diode in order to optimize the efficiency of a rectifier has been a hot research topic on Microwave Power Transmission (MPT). In this paper, a novel method to obtain the impedance of diode in the circuit based on Advanced Design System (ADS) commercial software is proposed. Based on the ideal model of diode in the single shunt rectifier circuit, the iterative process can obtain the converge impedance corresponding to the optimal value of the circuit with series obtaining and matching. Compared with other methods, this one is simpler with smaller amount of calculation, while getting more practical result. According to the convergent impedance, this paper designs a novel rectifier with reutilized harmonic suppression filters, which makes the overall structure more compact and causes less insertion loss. The measured result agrees well with the simulation. With 8. 3 dBm input power and the 1. 3kΩload, the measured output voltage of the circuit reaches 2. 469 V with 69. 34% efficiency. The efficiency keeps beyond 50% with -1. 6 dBm ~11. 4 dBm input power.
