    Irradiation Effect of Wide Pulse Electric Field on Program Control Telephone Switch

    • To analyze the interference effects on program control telephone switch of wide pulse electric field, irradiation experiment system is established and experiments are carried out. The effect rules and interference mechanism are confirmed. The results show that wide pulse electric field, which rise time is not less than 10 ns and the pulse width is more than 1 ms, can affect the normal working performance of the test telephone and the switch. But it cannot damage the test equipments even the field intensity reaches 100 kV/ m. To the test equipments, the direct effect and cable coupling of the irradiation field lead to the interference phenomenon. The interference is more serious when the orientation of connection line is in accordance with the polarization direction of the irradiation field. Compared with the telephone, the switch is more susceptible to the irradiation field under the same condition. The rise time and electric field intensity are two main factors that affect the interference degree.
